The Star says that Jamie Redknapp finds the softly, softly approach to protecting his fitness tricky to adopt at times.

Jamie is quoted as saying: "Glenn gave me a few days off after the game against Southampton. I was looking forward to the break but in no time at all I was eager to train.

"It's working well. The gaffer and the coaching staff help me. Sometimes I'll go on the bike rather than train, but that kills me."

Also in the Star, a section of Glenn's Evening Standard column is reported on, where the boss says David Seaman is still England's first choice keeper. "I've no doubts that he'd be in goal if the tournament was starting tomorrow," he said.

The Mirror says Stephen Carr is close to making a comeback after a hamstring injury and has returned to training.

Following the arrival of Robbie Keane, the report says Sergei is ready to pay for his own escape route and says former club Dynamo Kiev have held secret talks with him.

The Express says Darren Anderton could still be a target for Leeds.
