What a week

Harry Redknapp reflected on an amazing first week at the club and described a seven-point haul from three tough games as 'fantastic'.

It all started last weekend when Harry was appointed our new manager and he was straight down to business against Bolton - Clive Allen selected the side and Harry gave an immediate input by meeting the lads at the hotel and 'getting amongst them' in the dressing room

The result was our first league win of the campaign, a vital three points gained via strikes from Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent.

Next up was Harry's first North London derby and an amazing night at the Emirates, coming from 3-1 and 4-2 down entering the 89th minute before goals from Jermaine Jenas and Aaron Lennon secured a memorable point.

The week - in fact, six days - was completed by another fantastic comeback on Saturday, this time against a Liverpool side that topped the table at start of play with eight wins in 10 games and just seven goals conceded.

It looked a tough task when Dirk Kuyt rammed home the opening goal for the Reds in the third minute but we rode our luck at the start of the second half and with Harry switching from a 4-4-1-1 formation to 4-4-2 and two strikers, we slowly started to get into the game.

We got the break we needed after 69 minutes when Jamie Carragher headed David Bentley's corner into his own net for 1-1 and completed victory in the 90th minute when Bentley's shot was saved only for Bent to square the rebound to Pavlyuchenko to score.

"The Bolton match was vital for us," said Harry. "People talked about us showing character at Arsenal but we also showed a lot of character by winning against Bolton. That was a match we had to win and if we hadn't won that, we really looked like we were in trouble.

"Arsenal was amazing. Sometimes you get turning points and the draw with Arsenal was one. When we scored it was as though we had won the cup.

"Liverpool are such a tough team to play against and when we went behind so early it was going to be difficult for us.

"We kept going and when you do that and don't give up, you get your rewards.

"Let's be honest, we would have taken two points from Arsenal and Liverpool. We'd have taken five points against Bolton, Arsenal and Liverpool all day long so to take seven points is fantastic for us."
