What a way to do it!
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Glenn Hoddle reflected on ending 12 years of hurt against Chelsea and reaching a cup final in his first full season and beamed: "What a way to do it."
We tore the Blues apart 5-1 in the second leg of the Worthington Cup semi-final, second leg to book our final place against Blackburn Rovers at Cardiff Millennium Stadium on Sunday February 24.
Steffen Iversen opened the scoring inside two minutes and the night just got better and better as Tim Sherwood, Teddy Sheringham, Simon Davies and Sergei Rebrov all joined the party.
A jubilant Glenn declared: What a way to nail that record to the mast. We couldn't have asked for a better performance.
"Our finishing was clinical, our passing and movement and also the way the back three defended was superb. To score five goals, could have been more, magnificent.
"Five different goalscorers says it all and that was after we lost our leading goalscorer, Les Ferdinand, before kick-off.
"I'm delighted for everyone at the club, the fans, because it's been a hard time for them with this record against Chelsea, but that's evened it up for them in one fell swoop. It's all about nows and tomorrows and we're now in a final."
Glenn was delighted with the goals. "Steffen got us off to the perfect start with his toe poke," he said.
"He's done fantastic for us, great character, great commitment - it was his first start for five months.
"Tim's was a wonderful goal and the way it went in got everyone going.
"Teddy's goal was superb, a fabulous move and Simon, he's getting better and better and I was delighted to see Sergei come on and affect the game.
"The crowd were fantastic. They knew what a big night it was and they've been entertained along the way."
