We'll use lessons learned last year - Ben
17 February 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Ben Davies hopes the players who featured in last year’s defeat away to Fiorentina can use the lessons learned in that game to our advantage this time around.
We’ve been pitted against the Serie A giants in the Europa League round of 32 for the second season in a row, with the first leg coming up in Florence on Thursday evening (kick-off 7pm local time, 6pm UK).
Having lost 2-0 in the away game last term - a result that followed on from a 1-1 draw at home - left-back Ben hopes our winning momentum of late can spur us on to a better result in Italy ahead of the second leg at White Hart Lane next week.

“It’s a game where we’re looking to do better than we did last year and it’s nice to start with the away leg first,” said the Welsh international.
“We learned last year that Fiorentina are a very organised team, a very strong team and I’m sure they’ve improved since then as well so it’s going to be a tough game but hopefully we can do a good job.
“It’s a difficult place to go and the way they play football is based on defence so they’ll make it hard for us to create chances but we’ve got to go out there and look to put our best foot forward.
“There’s a good feeling around the squad at the moment and this is another game that we’re all looking forward to.”
