We'll pick ourselves up for Palace - Harry

Thu 04 December 2014, 10:50|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane was left with a sense of what might have been at Chelsea.

The young striker once again gave everything leading the line against a Chelsea defence that had kept 11 clean sheets in 14 games before our meeting at Stamford Bridge.

And Harry rattled the Premier League leaders as we started impressively.

He planted a header against the crossbar from Aaron Lennon’s cross and then raced away down the left before zipping a shot just wide.

That was at 0-0 - but the game changed when Eden Hazard and Didier Drogba netted twice in three minutes to put Chelsea 2-0 up midway through the half.

We had plenty of possession from there without being able to break through and Loic Remy wrapped it up with the third goal.

“We started well, came out of the blocks and created a few chances,” reflected Harry.

“I hit the crossbar from a header and on another day that could have easily dropped in. We created other chances that could have gone in as well but we didn’t take them and Chelsea punished us.

“I thought we came out in the second half and played well, kept the ball well and created chances but we couldn’t stick the ball in the net.

“They are a good side, no doubt about it and more ruthless than us. We’ll have to learn from this, dust ourselves down and pick ourselves up for Palace on Saturday.”
