Welcome return for Carlo

Harry Redknapp expressed his delight at Carlo Cudicini's return to action following Saturday's 4-0 friendly win against Bournemouth.

Harry Redknapp expressed his delight at Carlo Cudicini's return to action following Saturday's 4-0 friendly win against Bournemouth.

The goalkeeper was named in the starting XI for our opening pre-season fixture at Dean Court, his first outing for us since suffering pelvic and wrist injuries in an accident in November.

Harry revealed the Italian - who had one serious save to make in his first-half appearance - is fully recovered and raring to go following a summer spent building up his fitness.

"I'm so pleased he has recovered, absolutely delighted." said Harry.

"It is great to have him back and available. He looked good today and that's great news for him and for us. He is ready to go.

"He is a great professional, a terrific goalkeeper and a top guy. He has done fantastic to recover after that horrific accident.

"He has just got on with it and worked his socks off to get fit again. We all knew he faced a struggle to get fit but he has worked hard with Tony Parks everyday all through the summer and he feels good."
