WELCOME back to Spurs Xtra!

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

We've kicked-off this latest update with all-new and exclusive pictures from Tuesday's training session at Spurs Lodge.

As you might guess, numbers are down as we're in an international week, but the lads left were put through their paces, including a number of one-on-one and two-on-two routines.

WAS XTRA dreaming or did anyone else see one of the goals of the season on Sunday?

Yes, it was at White Hart Lane but no, it wasn't Luka Modric's lovely goal. It was actually Wilson Palacios. And not just Wilson Palacios but, as we might sing, 'Palacios, from the halfway line...

If you were there or watched the match on television you might recall, in the final seconds of injury time, Tim Howard legging it out of his area and clearing the ball to half-way.

Wilson gathered and looped a 50-yarder back into the empty net but, unfortunately, as the ball was in mid-air, the final whistle sounded.

A few more seconds and we'd all be talking about a Beckham-style (or should that be Mendes?) goal, but it wasn't to be. Pity.

NIKO KRANJCAR gave Xtra's colleagues at Spurs TV Online a bit of banter after the Bolton game.

Turning attention to international football and his friendly for Croatia in Belgium this week, Spurs TVO simply suggested that it was an important time for Croatia to start building for European Championship qualification.

The word 'important' had barely been uttered in the question when Niko started cracking up. "We'd rather be preparing for the World Cup," he laughed. "But it's good to get back to your country and it always makes me proud to play for the national team."

Xtra pointed out to Spurs TVO that might have been the perfect time to point out why Croatia weren't there - and throw in a 5-1 - but he bottled it...

YOU'D NEVER guess Ben Alnwick's from the North-East.

During the recent cold snap - when even Joe Jordan admitted to it being 'a bit chilly' (it was, in fact, about -40) - there was no end to the layers worn by players and staff alike as they turned up at Spurs Lodge.

Not Ben though, who rolled in on one of the coldest days in recent memory in jeans and a t-shirt. They make 'em differently up there!

PS - Joe still wore shorts. We'd have to be training in the middle of the North Pole, on a particularly chilly day, before he'd entertain wearing tracksuit bottoms!

YOU CAN always rely on Harry Redknapp for a story.

In the latest issue of hotspur - out now - Harry was asked for the smallest venue he could remember taking a team to or playing at. "When I was at West Ham we always used to play a team called Bata, the shoe people, somewhere in Essex," he said. "They used to give us a couple of pairs of shoes - it was like winning the Pools!"

For Bata or worse, you might say...
