'We stayed focused' - Paulinho

The response of the team to Jack Colback’s equaliser was key to Sunday’s win at Newcastle, according to Paulinho.
Following Nacer Chadli’s first half opener, we befell the same fate as we did in the reverse meeting at White Hart Lane earlier this season as the Magpies scored within a minute of the start of the second half.
But rather than going on to suffer defeat as in that October meeting, we regained the upper hand through Christian Eriksen’s 53rd-minute free-kick before Harry Kane wrapped up a 3-1 victory in stoppage time.
Midfielder Paulinho was naturally delighted with the result and saluted the way the team ensured we emerged from St James’ Park with maximum points.
“We played the first half well but then, when we came back out for the second half, we didn’t start strongly and that’s why Newcastle scored,” said the 26-year-old, who completed 89 minutes before being replaced by Ryan Mason.
“After their equaliser we played well but most importantly we kept going. We had to come back strongly in the second half and keep focused on the game.
“Football today is fast and quick and every player has to have fast reactions.
“If you make a mistake and lose the ball you have to run to put pressure on and win it back.
“We’ve now got five games left this season to get as many points as possible and improve our position.”
