'We push each other'

29 December 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Kieran Trippier turned immediately to Kyle Walker after making his Premier League debut for us at Watford.

Kieran was hugely impressive in a new 3-4-2-1 system at Vicarage Road and having provided a constant stream of crosses from the right, delivered the one that mattered in the final minute for Heung-Min Son to turn home the winner.

The summer recruit from Burnley has started every cup match this term but has had to remain patient with Kyle in fine form – an ever-present before Watford.

“I’ve worked hard and give credit to Kyle, he’s done really well,” said Kieran. “We push each other on and that can only make us better players.

“It was just important for me to keep going and we got the win, so that’s all that matters. We’ll see what happens next.”

For Kieran, it was ‘job done’ in a real test against a Hornets side seventh at start of play and on a run of five unbeaten going into Monday’s clash.

“It was a good performance all-round,” he added. “Full credit to Watford, they did well, but we came here to get the three points and push ourselves further up the table and we did that.”
