We move on - William

William Gallas is determined for the players to move on quickly after the loss against Chelsea.

The focus has now turned to Thursday night’s Europa League clash against NK Maribor in Slovenia, the first of three quickfire away games as we then to go Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday and Norwich in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday week, October 31.

The disappointment was palpable in the tunnel at the Lane after the 4-2 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday.

“We have to put this behind us,” said William, skipper on Saturday. “It’s difficult to accept it, especially when it’s against Chelsea, a big derby, because you always want to win."

It looked good when we turned around a 1-0 deficit against Blues to lead 2-1 at the start of the second half but in a rollercoaster encounter, Chelsea hit back again.

“We’re disappointed because even if we didn’t start the first half well, we came back well in the second half, we equalised and scored the second goal, but we made mistakes,” said William, adding that although impressed by our comeback – he scored the equaliser – it ‘wasn’t enough’.

“When you play against Chelsea you have to be strong for the 90 minutes but we have to forget that game and move on."
