We launch pioneering online ticketing system
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Tottenham Hotspur will be the first British football club to use an Internet ticketing system with 'view-from-seat' technology.
The system, which will be fully integrated with the box office system, goes live on 11 March 2002.
Tottenham has signed a five-year deal with Data Factors, providers of the world leading technology.
The totally unique aspect of the ticketing service will be the ability for fans to select an actual seat and to view a high quality image from that specific location.
Karen Murphy, Ticket Office Manager at THFC said, "Not only is the system incredibly user-friendly, it is also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
"Additionally the unlimited bandwidth means that there should be no queuing. To provide the best possible service we needed to ensure that the Internet was an integral part of our in-house real-time ticketing systems. This technology allows us to do that"
Linda Watkins, Manager, Members, added, "For our fans without access to the Internet, the introduction of this system means that fewer calls need to be made to our ticket office land lines, thereby making it easier to phone and book tickets even at busy times."
Pat Bernstein, CEO of Data Factors said, "This is fantastic evidence of Spurs' long-term commitment to better customer service.
"In three years time, every sports and leisure event will be ticketed this way.
"By then, Spurs will have added three more years of software innovation, making purchasing and supporter contact more personal, faster and even easier."
The system has undergone extensive security and load testing.

Fans will be asked to supply their membership number, postcode and date of birth. Payment is by credit/debit card via secure connection. Concessionary prices will automatically be applied.
Membership numbers will be logged against each individual seat.
Customer service and increasing use of the Internet as a valuable tool of communication with fans remain high priorities at White Hart Lane.
