'We have to handle it better'

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

George Graham once again questioned our defending but in the end had to pay tribute to battling Bradford City.

Ledley King put us 1-0 up with the Premiership’s fastest-ever goal after just 10 seconds and following Jamie Lawrence’s equaliser we looked in control when Sol Campbell’s header and Chris Armstrong’s tap in from Les Ferdinand’s assist made it 3-1 at the start of the second half.

But City pushed men on, pulled a goal back from Dean Windass and after sustained pressure rescued a point through Benito Carbone in the final minute.

Boss George summed-up: “In the first half we got off to a flyer and it was nice to see a midfield player pick up the ball in the attacking third and have a go at goal.

“Even though it was a bit fortuitous getting the ricochet for the goal it was good to see a midfielder in that position. Full credit to the boy.

“We looked nice and comfortable in the first half. When we got the third goal in the second half the tempo to our game changed and perhaps we thought we’d just defend it.

“Credit to Bradford though, they pushed men forward, played with four up in the last 20 minutes and went directly to the front boys and we didn’t handle it. We’ve got to handle it better.

“They were 3-1 down but rather than just accepting defeat they pushed people up, made us defend, not well, so give them credit for putting on the power, winning second balls, putting crosses in and we couldn’t handle it. It was a combination of our poor defending and their good team spirit. You can see that.”
