'We had belief - we didn't give up' - Dele on WBA draw

Dele Alli’s attitude to football epitomises this team - and rescued a deserved point at West Brom.
The all-action midfielder had more reason than most to think ‘it’s one of those days’ at The Hawthorns as he was denied twice by Ben Foster in the first half, fashioned an overhead kick just wide and then saw former team-mate Nacer Chadli fire West Brom ahead with eight minutes to go.
But none of that. Dele was in there again when it mattered with a clever finish to make it 1-1 as the clock ticked into the 89th minute.
There was no sticking there either as we charged forward again and Foster was at full stretch again to prevent Christian Eriksen’s last-second free-kick creeping into the top corner.

It stayed 1-1 as we stretched our unbeaten start to the Premier League to eight games.
“You have to have faith in yourself, belief, to keep going and stick to the game plan and then hope if the chance comes, you put it away,” said Dele after claiming his third goal already in those eight games. “Thankfully I got the goal but more importantly we got a result and we’re still unbeaten.
“It shows the belief we have in the team, we didn’t give up, we didn’t stop until the final whistle and even when we finally scored, we tried to score a second goal straight after. We kept fighting and kept working for each other.
“It’s not easy to play against any team that sits back, soaks up pressure and looks to counter-attack and they are a good team.
“I felt we dominated from the start and had a lot of chances and it’s another case of needing to be more clinical. You have to give a lot of credit to Ben Foster as well, he played really well but on another day, it could have been four.”

We now head to Germany and a Champions League clash against Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena on Tuesday.
“I can’t wait,” added Dele. “We have to keep going. We were all disappointed we didn’t leave with all three points but there were a lot of positives in the performance, we played well as a team, okay, we didn’t take the chances but we created them and in the next game we have to make sure we put them away.”
