We approach second leg as if tie's goalless - Brad

Brad Friedel insists we have to forget the first leg and start again when we face Inter Milan in the second leg of our Europa League, Round of 16 tie tonight.

Goals from Gareth Bale, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jan Vertonghen rewarded a fine performance in the first leg with a 3-0 lead going into the return at the San Siro.

However, both Andre Villas-Boas and the players have been quick to underline that we have to start again in Milan.

“We anticipate this being a very difficult match,” said Brad. “In our minds, we’ll play it like it’s 0-0. We all know the San Siro is a difficult place to play, so we’ll have to be at our best.

“You have to take out of your mind that it’s 3-0 and go into it with the nerves and anxiety as if it’s still 0-0.

“We have to apply pressure, make it difficult and do all the basics we did at White Hart Lane. I thought we performed very well that night and we’d like to emulate that here.”
