Watford v Spurs - betting preview with Marathonbet

27 December 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Two form teams meet at Vicarage Road for the first time in almost 10 years in the Premier League as Spurs make the short trip to Watford on Monday (December 28, 3pm).

The last occasion the teams met in league action at Vicarage Road was a goalless draw in October, 2006 – the only goalless draw between the teams in their league meetings. In fact, the two meetings between the teams at Watford have both been draws (1-1 back in March, 2000) and a draw this time around is priced 63/25 at Marathonbet.

Spurs have had the better of it with one loss going back to 1987 and are priced 27/25 to follow up back-to-back wins against Southampton and Norwich. Watford are unbeaten in five and 149/50 to win this one.

Spurs have won the last three meetings between the teams in the Premier League (2007), League Cup (2008) and FA Cup (2012) with the last Premier League encounter ending in a 3-1 success at White Hart Lane. Spurs to win by two goals is priced 9/2 this time around.

Harry Kane bagged goals 12 and 13 for the season (11 in the Premier League) against Norwich on Boxing Day and is priced 49/10 to score first on Monday. Dele Alli set up both goals and is 10/1 to score first while Marathonbet list Erik Lamela at 8/1 to open the scoring.

Tom Carroll opened his Premier League account against Norwich and the midfielder is 22/1 to score the final goal in the match.

Watford’s front two Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney have hit  the headlines for Watford and are 71/10 and 38/5 respectively to score first.
