Watford 1-1 Spurs - reaction from Vicarage Road

Sat 02 December 2017, 18:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Reaction direct from the dressing room at Vicarage Road after our 1-1 draw against Watford.

Mauricio Pochettino
"I feel disappointed and pain, and it's painful because after 20 minutes we dominated the game but we conceded from a set-piece. The team is like 'it's happened again and we need to fight' and showed great character. We scored a great goal from Son and at 1-1, I thought we played much better in the first half.

"In the second half we're a little unlucky because to play with 10 men for 40 minutes was difficult, but we always fought for the win. It was an amazing effort and I'm so proud about that. I'm frustrated about the last few results but happy with the performances. The team is alive and fighting and the commitment is amazing."

Jan Vertonghen
"We wanted to win, even with 10 men we were still looking good and it feels like we’ve dropped two points here even after the red card. We knew we had to level up our physical game and I think we did well there. We showed that we want to fight for each other and in this phase of the season this is the most important thing."

Heung-Min Son
"It was a difficult game. We conceded a goal from a set-piece but it was good timing to score before half-time but then we got the red card in the second half. We were unlucky. I think we’re all disappointed."
