Wanyama wins Man of the Match prize after City win
03 October 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Victor Wanyama was named Man of the Match by our supporters following Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Premier League leaders Manchester City.
The Kenyan international put in another committed shift in midfield and earned praise from far and wide for his contributions.
Ex-Spur and now television pundit Jermaine Jenas described Victor as “immense” in the aftermath of the game and our fans agreed. In total, the former Celtic and Southampton man took 45 per cent of votes for Man of the Match across our official Twitter and Facebook platforms.
Heung-Min Son, who produced another lively showing in attack, was runner-up with 27 per cent.
We won the game thanks to an early own goal from Aleksandar Kolarov and Dele Alli’s well-taken strike on 37 minutes, while Erik Lamela saw his second half penalty saved by Claudio Bravo.
