Walker's a Fox
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Ian Walker was unveiled as Leicester City’s new goalkeeper at a press conference on Monday afternoon.
Our long-serving, former England international has signed a four-year deal at Filbert Street.
‘Walks’, 29, signed professional forms for us back in 1989 and made his first team debut a year later.
He went on to make over 300 appearances in all competitions but lost his number one slot to Neil Sullivan last season. ‘Sully’ was outstanding and as a result, Walker spent most of the season on the bench.
He has moved to Filbert Street to resurrect his career but knows he has to fight for his place — Tim Flowers and Simon Royce are battling for first-choice honours as well.
And Walker will be handicapped by a suspension at the start of the season after being sent off in a reserve game at the Lane at the back end of last term.
He said: "I know people will say I have swapped like for like in that I will have to fight for my place here.
"But the way I see it I needed a new challenge and a change of scenery.
"I don't think you can get guarantees anywhere so I was happy to sign for Leicester and show what I can do. I need a fresh start."
Reflecting on last season, Walker added: "I was very disappointed and frustrated. It was pretty bad in the end.
"When Neil came in, I didn't get a look in. To be fair his form was tremendous.
"After being so long at Spurs I felt it was time to revitalise my career."
