Walker, Rose and Dier star in England win over Scotland

11 November 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

It was a successful night for our players on England duty on Friday (November 11) as they helped the Three Lions dispatch old rivals Scotland with a comprehensive 3-0 win at Wembley.

Full-backs Kyle Walker and Danny Rose proved influential for Gareth Southgate's side over the 90 minutes and, between them, had a hand in all three England goals.

It was Kyle – winning plenty of headers from Joe Hart’s kicking all night – who was quickest to react to Raheem Sterling's blocked shot to send in a cross from the right that was nodded in by Daniel Sturridge midway through the first half of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Rose then did likewise five minutes after the break, his delivery from the opposite side steered in by Adam Lallana, before the left-back won the corner from which Gary Cahill glanced in number three just beyond the hour mark.

Eric Dier, the third one of our players to complete the full game, also proved effective back in his holding midfield role.

Harry Kane was an unused substitute for the hosts, who stay top of Group F with 10 points from a possible 12.

Southgate's charges return to action at the national stadium on Tuesday night (November 15) with a friendly against Spain.
