Vote for Spurs' Ultimate Team

Fri 30 January 2015, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Today we launch the Spurs Ultimate Team, a fantastic new feature where supporters can vote for their all-time Spurs XI and manager.

Running in conjunction with our Official You Tube Channel, the team will line-up in a 4-4-2 formation with fans voting position by position until the Ultimate Team is complete.

The voting will start with goalkeepers and the final vote will decide which manager will take charge.

Look out for exclusive interviews and video content over the coming weeks.

We have 48 of our greatest-ever players up for selection - double-winners, FA Cup and League Cup winners, European heroes, goalscorers, midfield maestros, inspirational captains, defensive rocks and, first up, an agonising choice for fans from a pool of six goalkeepers who have proudly worn the number one jersey at the Lane.

Here is a taste of the names waiting for your votes, position by position...

GOALKEEPER
We’ve had a wide variety of top international custodians between the sticks for us throughout history. From the imposing presence of Double winner Bill Brown to the shot-stopping abilities of Pat Jennings to the incredible agility of current number one Hugo Lloris, we’ve been privileged to witness some of the finest goalkeepers in the game at White Hart Lane. Two of them - 'Big Pat' and 'Robbo' - even scored for us!

DEFENCE
Inspirational leaders on the pitch, fierce in the tackle, commanding in the air – we’ve had a superb array of defenders in our ranks. From double-winning heroes like Maurice Norman and Peter Baker to the fearsome duo of Graham Roberts and Paul Miller that provided the platform for our tremendous success in the early 1980s – right through to the commitment of Ledley King in the modern era – the barricades have been manned by a series of all-action individuals who gave their all in our cause. Who would you name in your back four?

MIDFIELD
There are so many factors to consider when picking a midfield four in your Ultimate Team. First off, the engine room needs players who thrived in the middle of the park, winning back possession and driving us forward, like the great Dave Mackay. Perhaps you want a leader in there, like double-winning skipper Danny Blanchflower. And then you need width. The pace and trickery of our wide men throughout the eras has been nothing short of dazzling, while a Paul Gascoigne or Glenn Hoddle or other such maestro could provide that extra attacking flair from a central position. Choose wisely...

FORWARDS
Goals that have won us trophies, goals that have kept us up, goals that have wowed the crowds - some of our all-time greatest forwards have contributed plentiful, sometimes hundreds, of key strikes. With so many legendary front men - from our all-time top marksman Jimmy Greaves to 1990s hotshot Gary Lineker, to European record-breakers Martin Chivers and Jermain Defoe, to German hero Jurgen Klinsmann - having worn our colours, picking a front two in your Ultimate Team promises to be no easy task...

MANAGER
First of all, your Ultimate Team needs a leader, someone to set out a tactical blueprint and man-manage a team of superstars. The great Bill Nicholson delivered eight trophies, including our famous league and cup Double in 1961, during his time at the helm, while Keith Burkinshaw led us to back-to-back FA Cup wins and a UEFA Cup success in the early 1980s. The likes of Terry Venables and David Pleat have also been key to our endeavours over the years. Who would you pick to lead your side?
