Vlad eyes Cup progress

Vlad Chiriches reckons we are in for another tough test against Hull City on Wednesday.
Following swiftly on from our 1-0 victory over the Tigers in the Premier League at the weekend, we’re back at the Lane on Wednesday evening as we oppose Steve Bruce’s men once again – this time with a place in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup at stake.
Vlad, our impressive Romanian centre-half, has been ever-present in our three matches since the international break – playing his part in a succession of clean sheets.
And the 23-year-old is keen for us to stamp our authority on the competition, as we seek a second win over the Tigers inside four days.
“They defended so hard and it was a tough game,” said Vlad, looking back on Sunday’s encounter.
“I think it will be the same in the cup, but I hope we will put on a good performance and we will win the game.”
Vlad confirmed that he’s relishing his time at the club, and added that his partner’s prior knowledge of London has helped him settle quickly in the capital.
“My girlfriend was staying here for six or seven years so it was easier for me (to settle in),” he added.
“It’s incredible to play for Spurs and I’m delighted to be here. It’s a good feeling to play against a lot of good teams.”
