Villa 0-2 Spurs - Holtby's delight

Lewis Holtby highlighted the togetherness of our squad after Sunday’s 2-0 win at Aston Villa.
Midfielder Lewis made his first Premier League start of the season, as goals from Andros Townsend and Roberto Soldado – his first in open play on the domestic scene – either side of the interval ensured we made a quick return to winning ways in the Premier League.
It was the ideal result after the disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to West Ham United before the international break, and Lewis was overjoyed after we collected all three points.
“Robbie scored a goal in open play, we’re so happy for him and you could see how we celebrated that goal, what it meant and how the team is together,” said Lewis.
“We needed to show something after what happened against West Ham and we did that.”
Lewis admitted that the lads were expecting a tough examination at Villa Park, and Villa backed that up with a committed effort.
The 23-year-old added: “It was a tough game. We knew what was coming, they have a good side, quality in depth, strong.
“Benteke came back in, but everyone gave 100 per cent and that was important.
“It was a deserved win, absolutely.”
