Using football to improve maths skills
06 July 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Pupils from 12 local primary schools in Haringey were given a chance to take part in Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s inaugural Maths Stars event earlier this week.
Maths Stars is delivered by the Foundation’s Education team that uses football as a hook to inspire young children to take an interest in numeracy.
The day-long event saw the children engage in a range of activities demonstrating the links between football and maths, such as measuring angles of the White Hart Lane pitch and working out goal ratios.
It goes to show how using football has a unique way of inspiring young people to improve in academic areas of their learning.
