USA tour a success for Andre

Andre Villas-Boas was delighted with the 'positive signs' from our tour of the USA.

The squad touched down at Heathrow in the early hours of Wednesday morning and returned to training today (Friday, August 3), ahead of the next pre-season friendly against Watford on Sunday.

The players came through three tough friendlies in America, drawing 1-1 against LA Galaxy, 0-0 against Liverpool in the afternoon heat of Baltimore and then beating New York Red Bulls 2-1 to lift the Barclays New York Cup on Tuesday.

There were also plenty of training sessions, interaction with supporters, coaching clinics and events - all in all, a successful tour.

“It’s been a fantastic 10 days for us,” said Andre after the final match in New York.

“Everyone has been so committed to the preparation and fitness. We’ve had good signs from this tour.

“All the of the games have had positive signs.

“It’s not the results that will change our perspective. We had good things and poor things in every match, but the process is evolution and that’s what we have to dedicate ourselves to when we get back to England.”

Spurs fans intending to travel to Vicarage Road for Sunday’s friendly - Lloyd Doyley’s Testimonial, kick-off 3pm - are reminded that tickets can be purchased from our Ticket Office, Park Lane, between 9.30am-5pm today.

Tickets prices are: £15 (Adults), £10 (Over 65 and 16-19 Yrs), £5 (Under 16).
