Upton Park reaction
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Colin Calderwood admitted that West Ham perhaps shaded the game at Upton Park after Sergei handed us an early lead against West Ham.
The Hammers reacted positively after falling behind and had our reserves pinned back for spells after levelling before smashing a late winner from a free-kick.
"We had a real bright start to the game, but we ended up getting pegged back before half-time," said Colin.
"Really I think West Ham deserved to get back into the game, they had the majority of the play from when we went 1-0 up. Our play from taking the lead to them equalising wasn't that good.
"We weren't decisive at the back in getting the ball out, we didn't have any real idea how we were going to progress the ball forward apart from hitting it up the front with a wee bit of hit and hope.
"The boys at the back have got to take responsibility for that and be confident enough to work the ball out in a certain way.
"The good thing was we played at Upton Park on a good pitch and I think they enjoyed it, but we ended up getting beat near the end, which probably wasn't really justified either.
"When we've had other games like that though, we've ended up winning when probably a draw was the right result. We'll take it on the chin."
Our rearguard had to endure a taste of the unknown in facing the trickery of Titi Camara, who was full of flicks and back-heels.
"They've got to be confident enough to handle him and they did for the majority of the game. He is very unpredictable in what he's going to do, he's not just the normal.
"We've still got to progress with whatever team we have out. We've still got to progress as a team a little bit better than we did tonight, we got to a certain stage and looked like we were going to fall slightly short.
"It's very hard because we've got no continuity. Overall alright, not too many outstanding individual performances, but no one had a real bad game. On the other hand, the collective performance has got to end up getting a result, whether it be a draw or a win."
