Under-19s topple Saints
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
The under-19s secured a first win since the winter break with a convincing 4-2 win at Southampton.
Pat Holland's boys lost to Charlton on their return to action last week, but put that right in some style.
Pat takes up the story...
"It was quite an even first half and we got off to a good start. With good work by Nicky Wettner on the byline, he cut the ball back for Jamie Slabber to score. It was nice to have two first year's involved in that one.
"Then the game went a little bit dull. They equalised when the ball was played in behind one of our defenders and he went through and scored.
"We scored just before half time. The ball was slid in by Dean Marney to Wettner - he drove it across the face of the goal and we were 2-1 up at the break.
"In the second half I thought we played really well, we created a few chances and Marney hit the bar direct from a free-kick - he then went on and scored. Mark Hughes made it 4-1 and, just at the death, they pulled one back.
"So, all in all, it was a good day."
The importance of getting a positive result was not lost on Pat as he prepares the team for Wednesday's FA Youth Cup 4th round tie against Bolton Wandereres at the Reebok Stadium.
"Leading up to the Youth Cup you want to try and get something out of the game and they've set themselves up nicely. Now we've got to take it forward onto the Bolton game and it will be an interesting week for us."
