Alex Inglethorpe was delighted with the performance as our Under-18s beat Ipswich Town 3-0 on Saturday.

A double strike from Ryan Mason (pictured) and goal from Jonathan Obika wrapped up the points in the lads' penultimate match of the FA Premier Academy League campaign.

Coach Alex reported: "We went 2-0 up in the first half with two of the best goals we've scored in a long, long time.

"The first game after 25 minutes resulted from good play from David Hutton, a pass over the top for Ryan Mason who volleyed into the bottom corner.

"About five minutes later and Ryan scored again, this time bending it home with his left foot after good team work and patient build- up play.

"Some of our play in that first half was exactly the sort of football we are striving for, the way we passed the ball, the way we combined - it was exciting to watch and what we work for.

"Probably the most pleasing aspect though was that we maintained our form in the second half because there have been times where we've surrendered the initiative.

"The back four deserve a lot of credit as they kept the game compact for us and we scored the third after 65 minutes when Jon Obika latched onto a pass, went around the keeper and slotted home."

Spurs U18s: Jansson, Smith, Hutchins (Asajile, 75), Kasim, Mtandari, C Butcher, Fraser-Allen, Rose, Obika (Olsen, 70), Mason, Hutton (Clare, 75). Unused subs: Dalton, Cox.
