Our Under-18s were held to a 1-1 draw by Hajduk Split in their second group game at the Tournoi International de Monthey on Thursday night.

Our Under-18s were held to a 1-1 draw by Hajduk Split in their second group game at the Tournoi International de Monthey on Thursday night.

We took the lead early on, when good work on the left by John Bostock was finished off by Jon Obika (pictured).

Both players had further chances to open up the lead further, but the Croatian side struck back in the second half.

Coach Alex Inglethorpe said: "It was a soft goal and one we wouldn't normally concede, just a shot from outside the box that found its way in. It was their only real effort on goal.

"I was delighted with our performance overall, in the way we controlled the game against a very strong and physically impressive Split side."

The lads go into their final group game with Olympique Marseille on Friday night knowing that a win or a draw should be enough to take them through to Saturday's semi-finals.
