Our Under-18s face their final domestic game of the season today with Aston Villa our visitors in the Barclays Under-18 Premier League.
We secured first place in the southern division last week with a victory at Chelsea, before drawing 2-2 at home to Southampton on Saturday.
That clash with the Saints saw a handful of younger players take to the field again, having already been introduced to Under-18 level football over recent months, alongside some of our more experienced campaigners.
Academy Manager John McDermott hinted we could see more of the same in today’s game against Villa, which kicks-off at 5pm.
“We’ve looked to use Saturday and Tuesday as a way of giving next year’s intake even more game time at Under-18 level,” John said.
“It’s about trying to get the blend right and with the older boys around them they can hopefully take the opportunity to excel.”
