FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE
Leicester City U18s 2-0 Spurs
Two goals in ten minutes just before half-time did the damage in Saturday's FA Premier Academy League clash.
However, the lads improved in the second half and there was an added bonus with the return from injury of Charlie Daniels.
Coach Pat Holland takes up the story. "The first half wasn't a great game. We had a couple of half-chances and they were similar, caused us a couple of problems but five minutes before half-time we went to sleep a bit, the lad won a flick on, they got around the back of us and scored.
"Then, with about a minute to go, they scored again. So it went from being a poor game to where are we going to go from here?
"In the second half I thought about changing it but then Scott Thyer had a problem so I brought on young Radwan Hamed and he did well, gave us pace up front, we started to get behind them and causing them a few problems.
"We also managed to get Charlie Daniels (pictured left) on towards the end of the half for Kieran McKenna, who we knew was playing for the reserves on the Monday. That was good with the FA Youth Cup in mind.
"In the end, the result was disappointing but for the last 30 minutes we played as a team and looked like we could be a threat."
