Turn for the worse
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Michael Carrick feels he couldn't have picked up his ankle injury at a worse time.
Our August recruit from West Ham kicked-off his Spurs career in style with a goal on his reserve team debut but then suffered an ankle injury in training that will sideline him for another couple of weeks.
It's the last place he wants to be as he tries to impress at his new club and the situation made worse by the fact we're playing one of the big games of the season on Sunday - the London derby at Chelsea.
"I turned my ankle over in training last week, it swelled up very quickly and there is a bit of damage to the ligaments," explained Michael at Spurs Lodge.
"It will probably be a couple of weeks before I'm back again. It's very frustrating because I wanted to establish myself here quickly and get involved in games but it's not to be at the moment.
"It does make it worse that we're playing a team like Chelsea and I'm not involved but it's one of those things and I'll have to be patient."
Michael has been impressed with our start to the Premiership campaign as we sit unbeaten after five matches in sixth spot.
"The lads have done really well," he added. "Everyone was expecting us to win against Norwich and win well but in the end the draw might not be such a bad result because it keeps everyone's feet on the ground.
"The next two league games are massive against Chelsea and United and we've an important week with the cup game as well. It will be a tough task and we'll see how far we've come."
