Tromso IL vs Spurs - Andros focussed
28 November 2013|Tottenham Hotspur
Andros Townsend expects our professionalism to shine through against Tromso IL this evening.
The squad is in Norway for matchday five of the Europa League group stage, but with an embattled home outfit coming off a disappointing domestic season to contend with, not to mention sub-zero temperatures and a synthetic playing surface, it promises to be a stern test.
However, lively winger Andros is confident that we are well equipped to deal with the task at hand, as we seek to consolidate top spot in Group K.
“I think we’ve all dealt with it before – we’ve been out to places like Russia so we know how cold it’s going to be,” insisted the down-to-earth 22-year-old.
“Their synthetic pitch is the main worry but we’re footballers, we’re all professionals so it’s something that we can deal with and hopefully we can get the three points.”
Tromso represents our first outing since last weekend’s heavy defeat at Manchester City, and with another huge Premier League match at home to Manchester United coming next on the conveyor belt of fixtures, England international Andros says a positive result in Norway is key.
“First and foremost it’s important to bounce back from the poor result on Sunday,” he added.
“We’re just looking to go out and win the game and win it comfortably and hopefully put ourselves in good spirits come United on Sunday.”
