Our recent Year of the Cockerel campaign celebrating Chinese New Year has proven popular among our ever-growing fan base in the region.
The campaign was launched with a live broadcast on the popular Weibo social media platform prior to last month’s match with West Brom at the Lane, at which the team warmed up in special edition t-shirts.
A competition was then launched on our bespoke social media channels in China for fans to win those shirts, signed by the players. The competition was also run by national broadcasters SuperSports and CCTV 5 on their social platforms.
The result – our campaign ranked number one out of all Premier League club Chinese New Year campaigns, and second behind only Real Madrid in the whole of Europe based on hashtag uses.
