Fredi Kanoute's hamstring injury not as bad as first feared while Sean Davis and Michael Carrick progressing well reports physio Geoff Scott in his latest fitness bulletin...
Fredi Kanoute (hamstring)
Fredi was injured against Manchester United. An MRI scan has showed a grade one hamstring strain which is reasonably minor. He's already begun running and we're hoping he'll be available if not for this match for the next one.
Sean Davis (knee)
Sean has been suffering from patella tendonitis. He's progressed well, started running earlier this week and is fit to return to training on Wednesday. All going well we're hoping he'll be ready for Saturday's game.
Michael Carrick (ankle)
Michael is recovering from quite a bad sprained ankle. He's also begun running this week and his rehab will take slightly longer than Sean's but at this stage he's running well and we hope he'll be in training by early next week.
Thimothee Atouba (leg)
Thimothee was injured against Chelsea. He had some bruising over a nerve that supplies muscles on his leg. He had quite a significant loss of strength which is now returning and we're looking for him to return to training as soon as possible. We've seen great improvement and we're hoping he'll be back within the next week.
Jamie Slabber (recovering from dislocated shoulder)
Jamie has a specialist appointment at the end of this month and upon his word we're hoping to get the all clear for Jamie to return to full training. He's kept up a high level of fitness throughout his time injured and he's not in pain any more, we just need that all clear.
Owen Price (shin splints)
Owen is still limited by his injury and is not able to do any running but we're hoping that will begin in the next week or so.
