Treatment Table

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Robbie Keane is making good progress in his recovery from the ankle ligament damage sustained during the pre-season campaign.

The striker - injured in a challenge during the match at Rangers on July 28 - has running on the treadmill and Dr Charlotte Cowie is hopeful that he could be ahead of schedule in terms of his predicted comeback.

"Robbie Keane is making really good progress, he started running on Monday - a short run for about 20 minutes on the treadmill," reported the Head of Medical Services. "We will check for a reaction and if there isn't we will step up the running.

"Then we will move into twisting, turning and kicking the ball next week. He is pretty much on target, he will miss the start of the season, but shouldn't be too much behind and is hopefully on target for an early return."

Dr Charlotte also revealed that Simon Davies has had the stitches removed following his shin operation and will soon be joining Robbie on the treadmill.

"Simon Davies is doing really well, he had his operation and saw the specialist on Monday and has had the stitches removed. He will start doing some slow work on the treadmill this week and build up his running from there. He is still on target, as before, for about five to six weeks to get him back."

Other injury updates

Anthony Gardner
Anthony has had quite a few different problems with his feet this pre-season, which is a lot to do with the natural shape of his feet and how he supports them in boots. He had a scan on Monday on his latest problem - which is a small one - but we think we can settle it down quicker if we change his treatment a little bit.

It is frustrating that these things have plagued his pre-season and he has been in and out, but there is not any one big injury.

Stephen Kelly
Stephen is doing well, his ankle joint was a little bit irritated so we had to hold him back to let it settle down. He was looking like he would be out for three weeks minimum and is pretty much on target for that - maybe just a few days over.

Mauricio Taricco
Tano just pulled his hamstring on Saturday. It is settling down well and was so much better on Monday. He is not far off.

Lee Barnard
Lee had an x-ray this week and his shoulder is settling well following the fracture. The ankle has settled as we expected it to and he is on target to be back in training as expected - five weeks, post injury.

Jamie Slabber
Jamie is the same really, he is out for three months following the operation on his dislocated shoulder and can't do anything. He just has to keep the brace on.
