Travel advice: FC Twente
Advice for fans travelling to Holland for our Champions League match against FC Twente on Tuesday.
First of all please note, this final match in the group stages of the Champions League is SOLD OUT and fans are advised not to travel without tickets officially purchased from the club.
Reigning Dutch champions FC Twente are based in Enschede, a town in eastern Netherlands.
A busy town centre is very much based around an old Market Square, which has a number of bars, restaurants and cafes.
There will be a Fan Zone for Spurs fans at the stadium that will open from 3pm.
FC Twente’s stadium, the Grolsch Veste Stadium, holds 24,000 fans.
The away section in the stadium is located in the North-East corner and entry is via Gate H125 and H123.
Coaches will drop our fans at the entry point to the stadium which is in very close proximity to the turnstiles for away supporters.
All Spurs fans will be searched by FC Twente stewards on arrival at the stadium. As always, THFC stewards will also be on hand to assist Spurs fans. Please approach them if you are having any difficulties.
Flags and banners with appropriate wording will be welcome at the stadium. It is common policy and normal ground rules at football stadiums in the UK and elsewhere in Europe that flags of an overtly religious/political nature will not be permitted. Authorities have advised that such flags will not be allowed access at the Grolsch Veste Stadium and may be confiscated. Please respect this request.
The stadium will open 90 minutes before our 8.45pm kick-off (local time, 7.45pm UK). Programmes will be on sale and announcements in the stadium will be made in English.
Please remember that you are ambassadors for the club and we would request again that you behave as such throughout your visit to Holland.
As always, thanks for your tremendous support in Europe.
IMPORTANT - TRAIN TIMINGS
Please note, the regular train service for Enschede has no trains returning to Amsterdam after the match. Please bear this in mind when planning your trip.
We have discussed with officials the possibility of laying on extra trains after the match, but unfortunately this has not been possible.
Buses have been laid on to take Spurs fans back to Amsterdam after the match. These buses will be parked in the Fan Zone area of the stadium. Shuttle buses will also be available to take fans back to hotels in Enschede.
