Tour 2015 - thanks Malaysia!
27 May 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Mauricio Pochettino and Harry Kane said ‘thanks’ to our Malaysian fans after the first stage of our 2015 Tour came to a successful end in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
Harry scored both goals as we toppled a spirited Malaysia XI team 2-1 to lift the AIA Cup in front of a crowd of nearly 30,000 at the Shah Alam Stadium.
As always, the fans were in great voice and the reception we’ve received in Malaysia has struck a chord with everyone.
“The result is always important but I want to congratulate and say ‘thanks’ to our supporters, they were fantastic,” said Mauricio.
“It’s been a great experience with them, we had a really warm reception and we’ve enjoyed it a lot. Now we look forward to Australia.”
Harry added: “It’s amazing, sometimes you just don’t realise how many fans you have all across the world and it showed tonight what a great following we have in Malaysia.
“The reception has been incredible and it’s great to see all the fans and have the opportunity to give something back to them. It’s been amazing and now we move on to Sydney, hopefully it will be more of the same.”
The squad travelled to Australia for the second leg of the tour on Wednesday night. We take on Sydney FC on Saturday at the ANZ Stadium (8pm local time, 11am UK).
