State-of-the-art facility set to open in September
• Teenagers to be given the chance to ‘think outside the box’ with project-based learning
• Tottenham Hotspur players visit site nearing completion
Tottenham UTC has released the latest images of what the new University Technical College will look like when it opens this September as part of Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium regeneration scheme.
Club captain Michael Dawson and winger Aaron Lennon were in Tottenham on Tuesday to view the site of the Tottenham UTC, which is currently recruiting Year 10 and 12 students for the coming academic year.
In partnership with Middlesex University, the UTC will specialise in Technology and Science for Sport, Health and Engineering, giving students skills that lead to employment in the competitive future economy.
The new CGI’s of the building’s interior reveal an inspirational design of a learning environment that will feature the latest technology, enabling students to think outside the box and become part of a future generation of forward-thinkers.
Through the new curriculum, 14-19 year olds will be able to take a hands-on role in designing innovations that could be used at the next Olympics or even in the National Health system.
On visiting the site of the new UTC today, Michael Dawson said:
“The new building is really taking shape and fits in with the fantastic regeneration scheme that is currently in progress.
“Having seen the latest images of what the facilities will look like within the UTC, and catching a glimpse of some of the technology and design equipment that will be on offer, it will be an exciting opportunity for any teenager that comes to study here.
“Most importantly, students who do come to the Tottenham UTC will be able to gain the skills needed to get a job at the end of it, which is what any young person should be striving for.”
Teenagers can register their interest in studying at Tottenham UTC by visiting www.tottenhamutc.co.uk
The Club will also be holding an Open Day at White Hart Lane on Tuesday 11th March, where students can sample some of the activities and technology that will be on offer at the UTC between 1.30 and 6.30pm.
