Tottenham Hotspur Foundation launches PL Enterprise Challenge
06 December 2013|Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur Foundation is delighted to launch this year’s Premier League Enterprise Challenge.
The Enterprise Challenge, set up to teach 11-19 year olds the basic principles of business, will give young people the opportunity to explore what goes on behind the scenes at Tottenham Hotspur as they work together to tackle the very real task of how the Club can engage with overseas fans.
Through a series of interactive workshops, both in their schools or community groups and at White Hart Lane, young people will explore the business of running a football club, learning what it takes for Tottenham Hotspur to be successful off the pitch. From advertising to communications, the groups will engage in a range of topics, learning skills that aim to empower them to become successful themselves.
With access to support from members of Tottenham Hotspur staff, groups will have until February to work on their idea and business plan before making a formal presentation to a panel of judges. The successful group will then go on to represent Tottenham Hotspur as they battle it out with teams from across the Premier League in a bid to be crowned Enterprise Challenge champions.
Club Ambassador Ledley King, who was present for the launch, said: “I would have loved a challenge like this at a young age, having the opportunity to work in a team amongst friends to come up with a solution to a very real question.”
Ledley went on to highlight the similarities between working in the challenge teams and being part of the first team, saying: “It’s amazing when you’re part of any team to see lots of people with a range of different skills all coming together for the good of the team.”
