Tottenham Hotspur and Haringey Shed go the extra mile for Sport Relief

A group of 30 children with mixed abilities from local inclusive performing arts charity Haringey Shed have taken to the famous grounds of White Hart Lane to show their support for this year's Sport Relief.

The children walked a mile around the stadium with their patron, BAFTA nominated actress Sue Johnston, and our Brazilian midfielder Sandro.

Sue Johnston said: “It’s been a wonderful afternoon and it’s great to see the children out there raising awareness for such a great cause. I hope that their participation will encourage everyone to go the extra mile for Sport Relief.”

Sandro said: “The children involved had so much energy, they did really well and it was sometimes hard to keep up with them! It’s really important for kids to have the chance to come to our stadium and, as players, we know we have an important role to play in helping inspire them to achieve.”

This year, over one million people are expected to pull up their Sport Relief Socks and take part in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile to raise vital funds for vulnerable people across the UK and the world’s poorest countries.

The London Mile will be taking place down London’s most famous road, the Mall, and there is still time to enter and bag a space at the start line.
