Tony aims to impress
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Anthony Gardner will take the chance to express himself at the Lane on Tuesday night.
The 20-year-old, the latest youngster to break through into the first team this season, is part of Chris Hughton's reserve set up for the home fixture against Derby County, ironically the team he faced in the Premiership earlier this month.
A tall, composed defender, Anthony was back on the bench for Saturday's win against Coventry City but now hopes to grasp the opportunity to impress again on the main stage.
He said: "We don't who the new manager will be so the best thing we can do is express ourselves, show what we're all about and hopefully when the new boss comes in we will impress him.
"But David Pleat brought me and a couple of other young lads in so maybe we'll get a chance while he's in charge."
Anthony insists playing at the Lane makes all the difference.
"It's always nice to play at White Hart Lane," he said. "The last couple of games we've played there we've done well and it's a change from St Albans, where sometimes the pitch has been a bit boggy, it's a nice surface for us to play on and the team to express ourselves.
"We get a bit of a crowd there and that gives the lads a lift especially as we're a young team. They respond to that."
