TOM'S SURPRISE VISIT

Fresh from an appearance for England Under-21s on Tuesday night, Tom Huddlestone made a surprise visit to the Burwood Park Play-Scheme held at Chingford Hall Primary School on Thursday.

Fresh from an appearance for England Under-21s on Tuesday night, Tom Huddlestone made a surprise visit to the Burwood Park Play-Scheme held at Chingford Hall Primary School on Thursday.

Tottenham Hotspur Foundation have helped organise football coaching sessions with the playgroup, and up to 50 six to 13 year-olds have taken part per day.

As a result of their participation, the youngsters have been rewarded with prizes such as Spurs merchandise and certificates.

Tom took part in a Question & Answer session with delighted youngsters, and even took time to sign autographs for one and all.

He said: “I really enjoyed it. The chance to meet a footballer was something I dreamed of when I was a kid, so I feel privileged to be helping the Club provide such opportunities to so many young people in our communities.”

Tom's visit to Chingford Hall is the beginning of a long-term commitment by the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to work within the London Borough of Waltham Forest on a range of Community initiatives.

Tottenham Hotspur Foundation Chief Executive Kathryn Robinson said: “We are really excited about being able to extend our work into Waltham Forest and look forward to working closely with schools, community organisations and key partners over the coming years.”
