Tom Huddlestone relished making a starting return to a confident team when he took to the field against Braga on Wednesday night. It was the midfielder's first start since February 4 and he was an instantly assertive figure in the contest, the only downside being an own goal that goes against his name from when the Portuguese opened the scoring.
"I think my last one was Manchester United so it has been a while," he reflected on his welcome start. "It was good to get the win and that's the main thing.
"Obviously the lads have been on fire recently and it's easier to come into a team when it is doing well and winning.
"Unfortunately the goal went in off my head, I thought I would manage to get enough on it but it didn't work out. We're into the next stage now by a 6-4 margin so we've got to have to be happy with that."
Tom added that the peformances over the two legs probably warranted a bigger victory.
"We had a lot more chances than six goals over two games reflects and, if you look at the performances, we should have got more than that. We're disappointed with the two goals we let in, but the important thing was getting through to the next round and we've done it."
