Todd closes on target
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Derby assistant manager Colin Todd revised Derby's survival target downwards after a crucial home win over Tottenham.
Todd insisted the fight against relegation was far from over despite watching his side go eight points clear of the drop zone. But less than two weeks ago his boss Jim Smith had been calling 43 points as the survival target, and now Todd is claiming that 40 would ensure season of Premiership football.
Todd said: "I think we're looking at 40 points but even if we were to pick up three points in the next game we've got to keep playing right to the end of the season to get as many points as possible."
Todd admitted he was disappointed by his team's negative approach to the second half when they sat back on Branko Strupar's two first-half strikes. Taribo West's 70th-minute own goal set up a grandstand finish.
"It's happened too often. We have a little bit of mental problem when we go out in the second half," Todd said.
"We tried to preserve the lead in a fashion that is wrong because the best way to keep a 2-0 lead is to attack and we find ourselves having to dig deep to defend a game of football where we shouldn't be under that amount of pressure."
