What he said: “It’s special to play your first home game of the season and you want to get three points. We got a point last weekend but we were disappointed that we didn’t get all three so we have to achieve that this time.
“Palace have signed a few players but it can still work quite quickly in terms of settling in so we have to look only at our own performance. We’re really looking forward to it and we want to give our fans a first good win.”

Toby scored his first goal in English football as he powerfully headed home following James Ward-Prowse's corner in the second half to complete Southampton's side of the scoreline on Boxing Day, 2014. He spent the 2014-15 on loan to the Saints from Atletico Madrid but was an unused substitute for the reverse fixture in March, 2015 – which Southampton won 1-0 – having just returned following a hamstring injury.

In a game that will live long in the memory thanks to Dele Alli's wonder-strike, later named as Match of the Day's Goal of the Season, Toby started the game alongside Jan but ended it teaming up with Premier League debutant Kevin Wimmer after Jan picked up a knee ligament injury. We also faced Palace in the fifth round of the FA Cup on February 21 but Toby was an unused substitute on that occasion as we slipped to a 1-0 defeat.
