Sandro is rarely spotted without a smile on his face – and his return to the first team picture has given Tim Sherwood plenty to be happy about as well.
The popular Brazilian international has been sidelined since December 15 with hamstring and calf trouble, but he’s now back in the fold as we enter a crucial stage of the season.
Head Coach Tim said he’s thrilled to have the all-action midfielder back involved in senior affairs after his recent outing four our Under-21s, and he lauded the total commitment the 24-year-old brings to the side.
“It’s good to have Sandro back in the squad,” enthused Tim. “He’s a great character around the dressing room. He gives everything on the pitch and you know for sure he’s going to give you 100 per cent.
“He’s one who certainly relishes getting the ball back for the team so we’re glad to have him back.
“He’s not going to be 100 per cent fit quite yet, but the opportunity to come back and play brings him nicely along the path to playing in some of the very big games that we’ve got coming up.”
