Tim: We won't hide

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Tim Sherwood has declared: “We won’t hide against Derby.”

Our acting skipper in Sol Campbell’s absence realises we are under immense pressure to beat the Premiership’s bottom side at the Lane on Saturday.

Results haven’t gone well for us recently either but Sherwood expects a positive response in front of our own fans.

“We’re under massive pressure, especially playing at home,” he conceded. “The fans will expect us to win and we expect ourselves to win.

“We’ve got to try and be confident, get out there, have everyone looking for the ball and make sure we do our job the best we can.

“The important thing is to get the result. We need to express what we can do. If we go out there and start hiding, well I don’t know how we can live with ourselves to be honest.”

A reflective Sherwood - who chalks up his 400th career league game against the Rams — knows things haven’t gone too well lately. But he admits it could have been a different story.

“A few lucky breaks here and there and we might be right up there,” he said. “But we know things aren’t going well at the moment.

“We’ve had injuries to players in key areas and we haven’t got the strongest squad anyway so when it’s been depleted like in the last month that has reflected in our results.

“We know we’re not playing spectacularly but you don’t have to win games — unfortunately we seem to have to to win games at the moment. We’re not getting the breaks

“It’s not all doom and gloom though and hopefully we can pick up and get some points on the board because that’s what we need to bring the confidence back and make people want to go out there and play again.”
