THREE sessions at the training camp on Monday
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
The first was the toughest - speed endurance.
The emphasis was on speed and quick recovery and after a couple of short, sharp exercises, the lads split into two groups to attack six laps of two circuits. Suffice to say, the sweat was dripping off.
Football was back on the menu in the afternoon session. Again, the start was all about passing and movement with one and two-touch possession routines. After that, a full-sided game on a reduced pitch.
The lads stepped straight off the training pitches for the final session of the day in the gymnasium.
WE'VE had Borg v McEnroe, Sampras v Agassi and Federer v Nadal - add to those heavyweight tennis bouts 'Bents v The Doc'.
The talking was over. Having finished in the gym and with a couple of hours to spare before the evening meal, David Bentley and Club Doctor, Dr Zafar Iqbal, took to the tennis courts at our training base.
It looked a ding-dong affair from a distance, full of quick serves, clever backhand slices and booming forehands - Wimbledon, eat your heart out - before David finally came out on top. He then beat Dorian Dervite to take the mantle 'King of the Court'.
We'll see if anyone gets the better of him...
