The Walter Tull Trophy
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
The winners of our friendly against Rangers at Ibrox will receive the Walter Tull Trophy - in recognition of a player with close links to both teams and in keeping with both clubs' anti-racism message.
Tull was English football's first black outfield player when he signed for Spurs in 1908.
He moved to Northampton Town and was due to join Rangers in 1914 but was prevented from doing so as war broke out.
He was keen to be closer to his brother who had moved to Scotland to become a dentist but he never played a competitive game for Rangers.
Tull became an officer in the British Army and was killed on the Western Front in 1918.
