THE PLAYERS saw more of the football in Tuesday's training session

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

THE PLAYERS saw more of the football in Tuesday's training sessions at our training camp in the south-west.

The morning session was all about fitness - but this time the majority of the running work was done with the ball.

Not that it was any easier - the squad split into two groups and ran multiple laps of a circuit that spread the full width of the pitch and back again.

A quick break for lunch and the lads were back out again in sunshine and heavy showers for the afternoon session.

This session started with the 'piggies in the middle' style keep ball as the players formed a circle and tried to prevent two players in the middle from getting a touch on the ball.

After that it was into a full-scale match for the first time this season, 11 against 11 on the full pitch.

That session ended at 3.15pm and, like Monday, it was down to the gymnasium for upper body work and a then a swim to finish it all off.

IT'S OFTEN said that Tom Huddlestone could drop a ball on a sixpence and he proved it in an unfamiliar fashion on Tuesday.

Exchanging passes with Robbie Keane, the pair changed angles so the drinks bin - about the size of an old-fashioned black rubbish bin - was between them.

Naturally, the bin was soon the target and Tom found it at his first attempt with a quite exquisite example of his control over a football.

Keano rolled the ball into him and Tom, from about 20 yards, got his foot right under the ball so it span up in the air and right into the middle of the bin. Man and football in harmony!

By the way, Keano also landed at about the third attempt with a cheeky half-volleyed effort.

I'd still be there now...

SPEAKING of Tom, he's part of most of the banter and couldn't resist the chance of a laugh at Jake Livermore's expense in the gymnasium.

The lads were finishing off a weights routine that included lifting a weight in one hand high above their heads.

As Jake started lifting, Tom quickly pointed out that he looked like he should be in the film 'Saturday Night Fever' as he looked like John Travolta throwing down his disco moves!

Unfortunately, we didn't quite catch Tom's arm going up and doing the actions behind Jake, but at least we caught the smiles afterwards...

NOT a great deal of tennis on Tuesday.

The basic problem was a late afternoon downpour that not so much stopped most play, but put most off playing.

Some did brave it though and Dorian Dervite happily reported that he beat the Doc in a one-set affair. No-one has taken David Bentley's crown yet...

The Doc has vehemently denied that Dorian beat him that day. It seems in fact that the Doc and Dorian paired up to beat Head of Medical Services Wayne Diesel and assistant kitman Danny O'Sullivan in a pairs match. Never doubt a Doctor!
